It can be quite the struggle to simply learn basic nutrition for beginners and get some simple, actionable tips. This is distressing as the food you eat and your relationship around it can have such a huge impact on your general health and happiness.
With this video, my goal is to give you the key principles of healthy eating for beginners so you can have a trustworthy reference on how to nourish your body properly.
I will be discussing: what is healthy eating and why is it important, What are macronutrients and micronutrients and the basics of food composition, calories and portion sizes, which foods to eat and avoid, how to plan your meals, diets, intuitive eating, health beyond healthy eating, and more!
Beyond healthy eating, it’s crucial to maintain a healthy relationship with food, to get into the correct mindset for healthy eating, to be physically active, and to take care of your mental health.
Hopefully these easy nutrition tips for beginners will help you learn how to have healthy eating habits!

Psychologist and researcher Joanne Davila describes how you can create the things that lead to healthy relationships and reduce the things that lead to unhealthy ones using three evidence-based skills – insight, mutuality, and emotion regulation. Share this with everyone who wants to have a healthy relationship.

Dr. Joanne Davila is a Professor of Psychology and the Director of Clinical Training in the Department of Psychology at Stony Brook University. She received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from UCLA.
Dr. Davila’s expertise is in the area of romantic relationships and mental health in adolescents and adults, and she has published widely in this area. Her current research focuses on romantic competence among youth and emerging adults, the development of relationship education programs, the interpersonal causes and consequences of depression and anxiety, and well-being and relationship functioning among lesbian, gay, and bisexual individuals.
Dr. Davila is a Fellow in the Association for Psychological Science and the Incoming Editor (2016-2022) for the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology.
Dr. Davila also is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in evidence-based interventions for relationship problems, depression, and anxiety.
